Michigan State Basketball: Eron Harris has ‘badly sprained knee’ per Izzo
Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo stated in his postgame press conference that Eron Harris has a ‘badly sprained knee’.
Before the season began, everyone pointed to Eron Harris to lead the 2016-17 Michigan State basketball team. Losing Denzel Valentine, Bryn Forbes and Matt Costello put a damper on the leadership and the Spartans were left with Harris as the predominant senior to take over that role.

However, he has struggled in Big Ten play. He got off to a hot start in non-conference action, but his scoring has drastically dipped since the conference season began. In fact, he’s only scored in double figures a few times.
On Saturday, though, he went down with an ugly knee injury against Purdue which looked to be a potential career-ender. Tom Izzo took to the podium at his post-game presser and announced it was a ‘badly sprained knee’ which is somewhat good news. People were thinking the worst such as a broken leg.

Let’s hope it’s not a season-ending injury and he will only be out a few weeks. Losing a player like Harris at this point in the season is rough, though, especially seeing as it may end his career in a Spartan uniform.
