Former Spartan star Draymond Green recorded an extremely rare triple-double on Friday night with the Warriors — how’d he do it?
Draymond Green is no stranger to triple-doubles. In fact, he was known for filling up the stat sheet dating all the way back to his days at Michigan State and on Friday night, he recorded one of the rarest triple-doubles in NBA history.

The Golden State Warriors traveled to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies and were it not for Green’s monster game in nearly all aspects, it would have been a much closer contest.
Green’s defense, in particular, was outstanding. He finished with a triple-double without the points category reaching double digits. Yes, you read that right.
Not many players are versatile enough to finish with a triple-double with only four points to show on the stat sheet. He had 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals to go along with five blocks. If he had scored just six more points, he would have joined an exclusive club of members that have recorded a quadruple-double and one point would have gotten him into the 5-5-5-5-5 club.
There’s a reason Golden State is 45-8 this season and it’s not just because of the addition of Kevin Durant. Green’s versatility and leadership have made a huge difference.
