Michigan State Recruiting: 5 underrated 2017 football targets
2. Tarique Milton, NR WR
Looking at the elite wide receiver talent still left on the board for the Spartans in the 2017 recruiting class, it’s easy to see why Michigan State has been considered Wide Receiver U over the past few years.
Guys like Jeff Thomas, KJ Hamler, Danny Davis, Donovan Peoples-Jones and a number of others are still left waiting for a home, but Michigan State is in good position for each one. Those are just the big names — lesser-known, underrated prospects are still out there, waiting for a shot to prove themselves.
Tarique Milton from Bradenton, Fla., is one of those kids who has still yet to really establish his name in the recruiting ranks, but his time is coming. He stands just 5-foot-11, weighing 155 pounds, but if he can add a little muscle and keep his speed at an elite level, he will be a special prospect.
The fact that he’s currently unranked is a crime. Sure, he will probably get a few stars thrown his way before he actually commits somewhere, but watching his film is eye-opening. He has a little bit of KJ Hamler in him (a quick, shifty receiver) as well as Hunter Rison who can just go up and get the ball.
Milton received an offer from Michigan State back in May and it wouldn’t be a total shock to see him jump on it soon. He also holds offers from Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Pitt, Toledo and UCF, among others.
Tarique Milton is the epitome of an underrated recruit.
