Michigan State Recruiting: Top remaining 2017 football targets
Lynn Bowden was committed to Indiana just a few short weeks ago. He took a visit to Michigan State for the spring game and decided to open his recruitment back up just days after returning home to Ohio from East Lansing. Coincidence? Maybe, but it could also be the fact that he loved what he saw from Dantonio’s program.
Many believed that the four-star running back/cornerback was just too good for the Hoosiers and there was almost no way they could hold onto him with school like Ohio State and Michigan State showing interest.
Bowden can line up at receiver, in the backfield or on the defensive side of the ball and make an impact, no matter what the position.
The former Hoosier commit is ranked No. 83 overall in the 2017 class as well as the third-best athlete prospect, according to 247Sports. The momentum in the recruiting process is leaning heavily toward the Spartans at this point. He’s still awaiting an offer from Coach D.
Other interested programs include Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Oregon.
Ideal scenario for the Spartans: Weston Bridges and Todd Sibley both commit as running backs and Bowden is an athlete pledge who could play either receiver or defensive back for the Spartans — maybe even switch to running back, depending on future need.
