Michigan State Recruiting: Top remaining 2017 football targets
Speaking of Ohio State, four-star running back Todd Sibley is a current Buckeye commit who is very interested in joining Michigan State’s 2017 class.

Why would a Buckeye be that interested in de-committing and looking elsewhere for college? Well, recent events surrounding his commitment to Ohio State has forced him to reconsider his pledge. Urban Meyer sprung the idea of grayshirting (sitting out in 2017 and going on scholarship in January of 2018) to Sibley, which was an unpleasant surprise.
Sibley has always been interested in Michigan State and he’s the high school teammate of former 2016 Spartan pledge Jonah Morris. The two had talked about playing in East Lansing together before Morris de-committed to look around.
Now that grayshirting seems inevitable if he stayed with the Buckeyes, Sibley wants to keep his options open, but is still committed to Ohio State. The Spartans haven’t offered because of that fact. Once he de-commits, it’ll be a different story.
The shifty 5-foot-11, 205-pound running back from Ohio would be a welcomed addition to join his cousin and current three-star tailback pledge Weston Bridges who joined the Spartans’ 2017 class just a couple weeks ago.
Sibley is ranked the No. 238 prospect and 19th-best running back in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports. Although MSU seems to be his backup destination, he could also look at schools such as Kentucky, Michigan and Pitt, among others who have shown interest in the past.
