12. Visit the Beaumont Tower

No, you probably won’t find a ton of activities to do in the Beaumont Tower, but it’s as iconic as anything on Michigan State’s campus. In fact, many believe this is the one monument that really sets Michigan State apart and distinguishes it.

The tower was built back in 1928 and it was dedicated to the former College Hall, the first building in the United States dedicated to the teaching of scientific agriculture, per the tower’s website.

The history behind it goes way back, but today it acts as a symbol of the first instructional building on campus. That alone makes it one of the most beloved and special campus sights to see.

Just taking a picture in front of it or walking around it can give you chills. This is in honor of where the first building on the beautiful campus stood.

It can even act as a romantic spot for couples to go and spend a romantic walk together. Heck, Spartan Avenue‘s very own Evan Cruse proposed to his fiancee at the tower — that’s how special and iconic this monument is. He wasn’t the first and sure won’t be the last to do so.

Go check out the Beaumont Tower, it’s definitely more breathtaking in person.
