Michigan State Recruiting: Which elite prospects will be at spring game?
Adding Danny Davis this weekend could help with this five-star 2018 recruit. Leonard Taylor committed to Michigan just a few weeks ago, but it’s still so very early in the process. He’s barely received 10 offers yet and he jumped on the Wolverines one seemingly far too early.
Everyone assumed he’d be a Buckeye, but he spurned Urban Meyer and chose Jim Harbaugh — likely to the dismay of his Ohio friends and family. He did, however, visit Columbus for the spring game a week ago and loved everything about it, it seemed, especially the outpouring of fans (over 100,000) showing their support during a meaningless scrimmage.
Michigan State won’t have 100,000 people on hand, mostly because Spartan Stadium holds about 75,000, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be impressed by the support of Spartan Nation and the facilities Michigan State has to offer.
Davis and Taylor are high school teammates at Springfield, so if the former commits this weekend, the latter could take a serious look at the Spartans.
Taylor is ranked the 22nd-best player in 2018 and the third-best from Ohio. He’s yet to receive an offer from Michigan State, but has from the likes of Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State and Tennessee.
Man, it would really ruffle Michigan fans’ feathers if he was spotted wearing the green and white just one week after sporting Ohio State gear.
