Honorable Mention: Miles Sanders, 5-star RB

Mark Staten and Mark Dantonio made the trip to Pittsburgh, Penn., to visit one of the 2016 class’ top overall talents, five-star running back Miles Sanders. The top running back in the class happened to be wavering between sticking with the Nittany Lions and exploring his options, but recently decided to cancel his visit  to Michigan State and remain “100 percent” with Penn State.

This might seem like the whole process is over with for Sanders, but if he somehow changes his mind and takes that final visit to Michigan State before National Signing Day, the chances of him becoming a Spartan will greatly increase — heck, if he visits, I’d almost call him a lock to MSU.

Sanders is ranked the 20th-best overall recruit and the No. 1 running back in the class of 2016, according to 247Sports, and he is one of those elite talents who you want your team to have because you never want to face him.

With Penn State’s coaching staff going through rough times, the departure of three coaches and an advisor, the Nittany Lions won’t be competing for titles any time soon. Also, Christian Hackenberg and Geno Smith left the program and Saquon Barkley will be the starting running back for the foreseeable future.

Don’t be surprised if the staff makes one last run at him before signing day.
