1. Lavert Hill, 4-star CB

Michigan State was waiting for months, dating all the way back to July, on four-star wide receiver Donnie Corley to make his college decision. The Detroit, Mich., native almost committed to the green and white at Nike’s The Opening back in July and Coach Dantonio told him to be 100 percent sure he’s making the right choice before pledging because he didn’t want to have him second-guess it.

A couple of near-commitments later and Corley is now a Spartan after choosing the Michigan State hat at the Army All-American Bowl a couple of weeks ago. The sigh of relief was heard around Spartan Nation and Corley’s decision to pick the Spartans was actually much bigger than people realize.

Sure, Donnie is just one prospect, but his commitment could set off somewhat of a domino effect around the state of Michigan as it seems like his teammate, and best friend, Lavert Hill could be following his footsteps to East Lansing.

Corley was an early enrollee, so Hill might want to join his best friend if he’s hearing nothing but good things about the classes, campus life and just overall quality of establishment MSU really is.

The four-star cornerback from Detroit King has been considered a Michigan-lean ever since he decommitted from Penn State as his brother, Delano Hill, is a defensive back for the Wolverines, but Corley’s decision may have swayed his as well.

Hill is ranked the No. 88 overall player and sixth-best cornerback in the class of 2016, according to 257Sports, and he has a visit planned to East Lansing on Jan. 22 as well.
