Another top 2016 recruit with some serious ties to Michigan State, four-star athlete George Hill from Hubbard High (Ohio) was formerly backfield mates with current Spartan true freshman running back, L.J. Scott.

If there’s one thing that has to be intriguing for this high school senior from Ohio, it’s got to be the fact that his former high school teammate is currently the top rusher for the No. 6 team in the country that is also 8-0 on the year, looking to contend for a national title.

Scott has rushed for 502 yards and nine touchdowns through eight games, even hosting his good friend George Hill for a couple of visits as the two friends bonded even more and talked about potentially playing college ball together.

Hill, a former Ohio State commit, recently backed off his pledge to the Buckeyes to explore options elsewhere, and that’s something that’s been expected for quite some time now.

Many believed that his heart was with Michigan State and had been since he committed to the Buckeyes, possibly leading to his recent de-commitment. If the Spartans could somehow land Hill, he would make a world of difference wherever Dantonio decided to play him.

My best guess is he would play running back or receiver since he’s one of the most athletic specimens in the entire 2016 class. He’s ranked the No. 7 athlete in the country by 247Sports.
