Just like many other teams in the top 10, the Florida State Seminoles struggled with an inferior opponent in week six, but that just goes to show that no win will be easy in college football this year. Dalvin Cook put on a show, though, rushing for 222 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. Everett Golson also played well, but the Seminoles’ defense allowed over 400 yards through the air against Miami.
The Aggies got a bye in week six as they are getting ready to take on Alabama this weekend in quite possibly the biggest SEC game of the season thus far. Texas A&M’s sophomore quarterback Kyle Allen has been tremendous through five games, passing for 1,274 yards and 13 touchdowns while freshman wide out Christian Kirk has been a revelation, catching 32 passes for 519 yards and four scores.
Clemson manhandled Georgia Tech in week six, just as every team seems to be doing to the Yellow Jackets this season for some reason. The ACC race is going to be an interesting one if the Seminoles and Tigers stay unbeaten heading into their matchup. Deshaun Watson had yet another solid game, hitting a handful of different receivers for 265 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
We didn’t move Utah up or down after a win over the No. 23 Cal Golden Bears this week because, well, it was an ugly game for both sides. Travis Wilson and Jared Goff combined for seven interceptions while the Utes won a hard-fought contest at home, 30-24. The toughest part of the schedule is headed Utah’s way, though. Oh yeah, and Devontae Booker rushed for 222 yards and two scores in the win.
Alabama had a tough time putting away a struggling Arkansas team this week, winning 27-14 in somewhat of a snoozer. The Crimson Tide took a 10-7 lead into the fourth quarter before running away with the game. Calvin Ridley has put together two straight 100-yard receiving games, catching nine passes for 140 yards and a touchdown in this one. Alabama held Arkansas to just 220 total yards.
