1. MSU will be major injury free
I hate to jinx this even a little bit, but I’m confident that the bad luck Michigan State has faced over the better part of a month now is past us. Losing Kodi Kieler and Jack Conklin for a few weeks has been absolutely painful, but the offensive line has been resilient and shown that they are willing to overcome even the worst situations.

However, those guys’ replacement, Dennis Finley, went down with a gruesome broken leg injury against Purdue last week and that was a tough blow to the depth on the O-line.
Josiah Price has been out for a game-plus because of an ankle injury and will likely be back against Rutgers. The coaching staff was playing it safe by letting him get an extra week of rest against Purdue. The trio of Price, Jamal Lyles and Paul Lang has been solid this year, even though a little more production will be welcomed.
RJ Williamson and Vayante Copeland — MSU’s top two secondary members — are both out for the season and those were both devastating to hear about.
Ed Davis is also out for the season, but this team has replaced him nicely with Jon Reschke and Chris Frey.
The rash of injuries is now over, for the most part, folks.
Sure, there will be a minor bump and bruise here and there, but don’t expect any more major season-ending injuries. Knock on wood.
