We all know that big game is coming up with the hated rival from Ann Arbor. Coming into the season, not many people saw this as a matchup worthy of much attention and Michigan State was expected to just roll over the Michigan Wolverines, but it’s an entirely new ball game.

Jim Harbaugh has come in to take the reigns of a middling football program on the verge of becoming completely irrelevant in the Big Ten.

Under Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke, the Wolverines experienced quite a dark period, but even after five games, the reign of Harbaugh seems to be making a difference — although, let’s not forget Hoke led the Wolverines to a Sugar Bowl win in his first year.

The feel around the Michigan football program is different and that might seem true with a 4-1 record, but the Spartans will come into Ann Arbor on Oct. 17 and steal a win over the Wolverines in impressive fashion.

All the talk these days is about how good Michigan is and how much MSU is struggling, and the Spartans will put all that to rest with a nice 31-17 victory over the in-state rival and add another tally to the number of wins over the Wolverines in the Mark Dantonio era.

Paul Bunyan better get comfortable, he’s not going anywhere any time soon.
