Michigan State has been sitting at the No. 2 spot for most of the season now and it’s time to really start thinking about either moving the Spartans up or down. If it weren’t for a three-point measly win over the Boilermakers at home in week five, the Spartans would be the top team in our conference power rankings.

We know, the game against Purdue wasn’t close for about the first 50 minutes, but it’s how you finish games these days. People don’t look at the overall play, they look at the final score, unfortunately, and beating Purdue by only three, even if it was because of MSU shooting itself in the foot, just isn’t worthy of jumping Ohio State.

The Buckeyes continue to be the top team in the conference by the skin on their teeth. Yes, the Buckeyes are still No. 1 in the country, but they are playing like the No. 3 or No. 4-best team in the Big Ten right now, despite an unbeaten record.

Cardale Jones looks like a poor option to start for the Buckeyes as he continues to struggle in the passing game, even against a mediocre secondary like Indiana. On the flip side, Ezekiel Elliott is proving to be not only the best running back in the Big Ten, but the top rusher in the entire country, finishing Saturday’s win with 274 yards and three scores on just 23 carries.
