3. Rushing attack will break out
The first game of the season was a pleasant surprise for the Spartans as the trio of Madre London, L.J. Scott and Gerald Holmes really broke out. It hasn’t been as smooth since then as there hasn’t really been just one true starter.

While the three players have been solid in place of the departed Jeremy Langford, no one has really been overly impressive although Scott has already garnered co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors after the Oregon game in which he scored two touchdowns, including the game-clinching score.
In this one, Michigan State will finally put it all together on the ground, racking up 250 rushing yards between the three.
London will start, as always, rushing for 100 yards once again all while Scott adds 80-plus and Holmes will come in during garbage time to finish with over 70.
Michigan State’s run game will open the pass game and, in turn, lead to a big blowout victory for the Spartans at home.
If Michigan State is going to have the kind of success to win the national title moving forward, the run game is going to have to really ramp things up big time.
