3. Close to home

This has been brought up time and time again, but Miles Bridges has always entertained the thought of playing close to home. His family is there, and it’s seemingly where he feels the most comfortable. Bridges was going to finish his senior year of high school back home, but his mother wanted him to stay away from the dangerous Flint area and finish his prep career in West Virginia.

When news broke that Bridges had decided he would come home to Flint to make his college decision in front of friends and family, it seemed much more evident that a commitment to Michigan State was looming.

Flint is very near and dear to the five-star small forward’s heart and playing college basketball close to his mother is something he has always wanted to do. Committing to Michigan State would give his family the least amount of travel time to his games and if he ever wanted to come home, it would take him less than an hour.

Michigan State clearly has the advantage in this situation because family is clearly important to him and they could be at a good amount of his collegiate games if he chooses Tom Izzo and the Spartans — which I presume he will.
