It hasn’t the easiest or most impressive start to the season for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, but there’s no way this team will hover around the .500 mark for too much longer. Losses to Miami in overtime and BYU on a fluke Hail Mary have been devastating blow to the confidence of this team overall, but Tommy Armstrong Jr. has been playing as well as anyone in the Big Ten.

Right now, the junior quarterback leads the conference in yards passing as well as touchdowns. He has thrown for an effective 1,266 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions on his way to one of the top marks, in terms of QB rating, in the Big Ten.

Not only can Tommy Armstrong Jr. pass the ball well, he also has the ability to tuck and run with it when under pressure, or even have some plays designed to take advantage of his dual-threat distinction. He also has 118 rushing yards and a touchdown this year.

The third-year quarterback has a chance to redeem himself and his team with a solid showing in conference play, starting this week. It will be interesting to see if he can keep up this torrid pace.
