The Big Ten football season is just a week away and while two teams have already gotten underway in league play, the rest of the conference is still putting its final touches on non-conference play.

More from Spartans Football

Unlike last season, the Big Ten is garnering a ton of respect early on. In fact, the top two teams in the nation are Big Ten football squads — Ohio State followed by Michigan State — and there are two other teams that have cracked the Top 25 with a couple more on the verge of doing so.

The Spartans and Buckeyes are considered the best teams in college football right now and two serious contenders to make it to that ever-coveted College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes, as we all know by now, won the entire thing a season ago, but the Spartans might think that it’s their turn to shock the world, per say.

With the season already a fourth of the way past us, it’s time time to look at the weekend that will be in week four of Big Ten play. Every conference team will be taking the field in week four and while some have favorable matchups which will help with confidence heading into Big Ten play, others may fall short and limp into the heart of the schedule.

Let’s take a look at each matchup on Saturday, from afternoon until evening, and predict who will win each game and why.

Will the Spartans and Buckeyes head into Big Ten play unbeaten? Find out.
