The tag-team of sophomores Jon Reschke and Chris Frey have stepped up in a big way in the absence of Davis at the ‘money,’ or strong-side linebacker position.
Reschke ranks third on the team with 20 tackles while Frey has been impressive rotating in on third downs. Frey’s missile-like pass rush has earned him the nickname “The Heat-seeker” in my household.
Frey, with the help of Lawrence Thomas, had a crucial sack of Oregon QB Vernon Adams on the second-to-last play of Oregon’s final drive.
Reschke and Frey will have plenty of opportunities to rack up ridiculous tackle totals against Air Force’s run-heavy offense.
"“The D-line sets the point of attack and then from there it’s up to the linebackers to read the holes,” explained defensive end Demetrious Cooper."
It seems like Riley Bullough is really excited, though.
"“Our D-ends and outside linebackers are going to have a full day,” added Riley Bullough."
