I don’t know what it is about this kid, but I think true freshman offensive tackle Tyler Higby is going to be an absolute star one day on this offensive line.

The offensive line in 2015 might be the best in Mark Dantonio’s tenure and learning behind those guys will be nothing but an advantage for the former three-star recruit out of Houston, Texas.

Guys like Jack Conklin, Jack Allen, Kodi Kieler, Donavon Clark and Brian Allen will all be showing Higby the ropes in order for the 6-foot-4, 305-pound tackle to be able to one day take the reigns of the offensive line and lead the group.

If I were to guess, I’d say Higby would redshirt this season just because of the immense depth on the line. With Conklin likely leaving after this season as well Clark and Jack Allen, there will be plenty of opportunities to earn himself a starting job next year — even if it’s at a different position than tackle.

Higby has the size and the talent to become an under-the-radar talent like Conklin, but he will need to learn behind the potential first-round pick this year before that can happen.
