Finally, we get to No. 5 and the first point guard is mentioned. Quade Green is one of the best guards in the nation, even receiving an invite to the Steph Curry Select Camp about a week ago — a camp for the nation’s top guards.

With Lourawls “Tum Tum” Nairn set to be a senior by the time 2017 is upon us and a possible commitment of Cassius Winston in 2016 would make him a sophomore, Green would fill a big need by the Spartans.

Don’t forget the fact that the team is going to lose Denzel Valentine and Eron Harris by that time, leaving Tum Tum and possibly Winston — or even Josh Langford — as the only guys who can run the point position for the Spartans.

Michigan State will need to go after a point guard for the next few classes and Green would likely be one of the top options for the position in the 2017 class.

Green is listed as the No. 30 overall player and No. 5 point guard in the 2017 class by 247Sports, and his confidence and alertness cannot be measured by rankings.

This kid always seems to be calm, cool and collected on the court, something Izzo loves in a point guard and the exact reason Travis Trice was so successful in his time at MSU.
