I guess you could couple Malik Williams and Jaren Jackson in this spot. The two big men are severely underrated and not highly talked about by anyone who follows Michigan State. Jackson is an up-and-comer for the class who dominated at the Izzo Shootout last month while Williams is another guy who has seen his name mentioned much more recently because of more scouting.

On to Williams; the big man from Fort Wayne, Ind., needs to fill out a bit more, as would any 6-foot-11 recruit at the age of 16, because his 200-pound frame would get punished in the Big Ten.

Don’t be surprised if he adds about 50-plus pounds in the coming seasons to get ready for college ball and, likely, life in the Big Ten. Right now, it seems as if the Indiana Hoosiers lead for the hometown prospect, but the Spartans have intruded and have made their interest known.

Watching his high school tapes, it’s like he’s toying with opponents, grabbing every rebound and making it look easy. He even went up against former MSU commit Caleb Swanigan and held his own, even frustrating the five-star big man, forcing him into some ugly shots.

Could that be a future matchup for the Spartans against the Purdue Boilermakers? Time will tell.
