The Spartans are hoping to land one of the nation’s top weak-side defensive ends in Auston Robertson from Indiana, but he is expected to take a couple visits before he makes his decision on June 7 at the RAS Camp in Fort Wayne.

Experts believe the Spartans have a great chance of landing him, but the visits to Notre Dame and Michigan in the coming weeks should be something to worry about just a little bit. According to Rico Beard, MSU will still be one of the schools he visits before his decision, but no one has reported it just yet.

Robertson is set to visit the Fighting Irish in the middle of next week as well as Michigan on May 30, according to 247Sports. The Crystal Ball on the site has Robertson mocked to the Spartans with 69 percent of the vote.

He narrowed his list down to a final three of Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame just a few weeks ago and it seems like the Spartans could be the popular destination for him as he seems to be solid friends with another MSU target, Josh King, as well as members of the “2016 Dream Team.”

Michigan State’s chances are very high to land the top prospect, rated No. 100 in the nation and No. 1 in the state of Indiana by 247Sports, and I believe his June 7 decision date will leave Spartan Nation very happy.

Although he is listed as a defensive end and tight end, he will play just defense in college for MSU if he decides to pick the Spartans — which I’m confident he will.

Decision date: June 7
