4. Donnie Corley, 4-star, WR

Donnie Corley has to be one of the most sought-after recruits in the class for the Spartans and even Messiah deWeaver has stated just how much he would love to have Corley join four-star wide outs Justin Layne and Cam Chambers. Imagine that trio of wide outs for the Spartans a few years down the line — just unstoppable.

It’s been deWeaver’s biggest project trying to luring Corley to East Lansing with him in 2016 and I am going to predict that it will pay off relatively soon.

Many people have been saying it’s just a matter of when, not if, for the four-star wide receiver from Detroit Martin Luther King. The hometown prospect has the Crystal Ball of 247Sports mocked in the Spartans’ favor 73 percent.

King is home to many Spartan targets such as cornerback Lavert Hill, who is a current Penn State commit, and 2017 corner target Ambry Thomas. If the Spartans can snag Corley, I believe it’s only a matter of time before Hill flips to Michigan State as well. That will get the ball rolling for Thomas to commit in the coming year as Detroit King could become a pipeline.

Corley’s pledge might be the most important of remaining uncommitted recruits and I think it’s basically a lock at this point, giving the edge to the Spartans — a 95 percent chance he picks MSU.

deWeaver has even stated multiple times that he thinks Corley will be a Spartan and he hasn’t been wrong much. He even went as far as to say that he almost got him to commit during his visit to the MSU spring game on April 25.

The commitment watch for Corley is on, folks.

Predicted decision date: Early July (Note: just a projection by the author)
