Duke vs. Wisconsin: Draymond Green Calls For Referees’ Jobs

Cincy on the Prowl
It was a game for the ages as the Duke Blue Devils and Wisconsin Badgers faced off for the 2015 NCAA Championship in Indianapolis. The game had plenty of lead changes and, ultimately, was won by Mike Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils, 68-63.
Wisconsin had a nine-point lead deep into the second half, but a Duke surge ended that and they took the lead for good after a Tyus Jones three-pointer with just a couple minutes remaining.
Many people were, however, upset with the way the game was officiated, for both sides, and one former Michigan State player who has never been pleased with referees was not happy with the crew of three referees. Draymond Green took to Twitter following the game, calling for their jobs and showing his disgust for the way the game was handled.
There were many missed calls in the final minutes of the game, including three crucial ones that swayed the momentum in Duke’s favor for good. One was a missed charged when Justise Winslow of Duke was sprinting down the floor with the ball and, completely out of control, ran through a Wisconsin defender before passing the ball out. Another was the missed out of bounds call when Winslow had the ball on the baseline and his toe was out of bounds, but the refs didn’t catch it — almost Josh Gasser-esque in the Big Ten title game against MSU.
The last missed call was a ball that was touched last by the fingertips of Justise Winslow before going out of bounds after a Wisconsin miss. Duke was given the ball even after a clear review of the play on TV showed Winslow’s fingers change the direction of the ball.
Does Draymond Green have beef or is he just upset that the Big Ten lost? I say Green, along with all Wisconsin players and fans, has legitimate beef.
