It's award watch list season in college football, and up to this point, there haven't been many Spartans recognized. That changed on Wednesday as two Michigan State football newcomers made the Biletnikoff Award watch list for the nation's best receiver.
The Biletnikoff Award is given annually to the nation's most outstanding wide receiver, and since its induction in 1994, Michigan State has one all-time winner: Charles Rogers back in 2002.
This year, Michigan State will have a few candidates to win the award.
On Wednesday, the preseason watch list was revealed by the Biletnikoff Award, and two Spartans made the cut. However, arguably the best wide receiver on the team wasn't listed.

Newcomers Chrishon McCray (Kent State) and Omari Kelly (Middle Tennessee) were named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, but somehow Nick Marsh was left off. Make that make sense.
McCray had a huge season with Kent State last year as he was arguably the best offensive weapon that the Golden Flashes possessed. He parlayed that huge season into a spot on a Power Four roster. As for Kelly, he began his career at Auburn as a former four-star and struggled to see the field in two years, so he transferred to Middle Tennessee where he broke out in 2024.
Marsh, on the other hand, was Michigan State's best receiver a season ago as a true freshman and broke a school record for a first-year Spartan wideout. He also has a strong rapport with Aidan Chiles, which will give him a leg up on the other two.
This will surely change when the midseason watch list is revealed, but to see Marsh snubbed like this, even among his own teammates, is insane.
I guess there couldn't be three players from the same team represented, but Marsh should've been Michigan State's top option.
