There are two tight ends who everyone seems to be talking about, but Michigan State football has a third in Noah Davis who gets overlooked.

When Noah Davis committed to Michigan State, he had just watched Josiah Price have one of the most successful and productive careers of any tight end in Spartan history.

Price was graduating following Davis’ redshirt freshman season and some believed he would combine to help keep the momentum going at the tight end position. Davis had the size at 6-4 and about 250 pounds and even started four games in 2017. He finished the season with three catches for 22 yards and had the second-most snaps among tight ends — second to Matt Sokol.

The upside of Davis was intriguing and some even preferred him as the starter over Sokol who struggled to hold on to the ball during his MSU career. But then the injury bug bit.

Davis missed the entire 2018 season with an injury and fans have seemingly forgotten about the redshirt junior tight end from Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s the exact type of player who excels in East Lansing.

Matt Dotson is the projected starter at tight end and Trenton Gillison is a popular pick for breakout candidate but Davis is being slept on big-time.

Entering his fourth year with the program, he has the system down and if he can stay healthy, he’s going to be a big, sure-handed target for a guy like Brian Lewerke. He may not possess the athleticism of Dotson or Gillison, but his hands are every bit as impressive.
