Michigan State recruiting could be making 2018 three-star running back Nolan Edmonds, a recent Minnesota de-commit, a priority.

What a whirlwind the past couple of weeks have been for three-star running back Nolan Edmonds from Atlanta, Ga. He was a Minnesota running back commit when he received a scholarship from Mark Dantonio and the Spartans on June 14, he took a trip to East Lansing a week later and de-committed from the Gophers shortly after that.

Although P.J. Fleck has been doing a solid job of recruiting since taking over the head coaching vacancy at Minnesota, he’s in danger of losing one of his top recruits to Michigan State. The Spartans have been trending for Edmonds since his de-commitment and many think it’s because his visit to East Lansing went great.

The 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back from Atlanta has incredible talent and he could be the Spartans’ top running back priority in the class of 2018. In fact, he should be.

Edmonds’ aggressive running style is something that would fit in nicely with the Michigan State offensive scheme. Dantonio loves running backs who aren’t afraid of contact and who can lower their shoulders, delivering a blow to would-be tacklers. He also has excellent vision and can turn a two-yard loss into a 20-yard touchdown run. His cutbacks are devastating as well.

The recent Minnesota de-commit is ranked the No. 393 overall recruit in the 2018 class and the 21st-best running back, according to 247Sports. He holds offers from Louisville, Cal, Illinois and Pitt, among over a dozen others.
