Former Michigan State football stars Max Bullough and Keith Mumphery were cut by the Texans Friday.

Two former Michigan State football stars were cut from the Houston Texans on Friday as both Keith Mumphery and Max Bullough are now looking for new jobs.

Both were going through off-field issues recently and the Texans showcased a no-tolerance approach, cutting them both loose.

News broke earlier this week regarding Mumphery’s expulsion from Michigan State in 2016 while taking classes for his master’s degree. The case would eventually be dropped as the accuser never came forward and the case didn’t seem to line up, but Title IX still found that he violated university policy.

Bullough, on the other hand, was guilty of taking performance-enhancing drugs earlier this offseason and would have been suspended four games in 2017. While neither was a starter for the Texans, they each had regular roles.

Houston is looking forward by bringing in the guys who they believe represent the organization at its best and not taking chances with players who have off-the-field issues. Both guys may have a new job soon enough, but it won’t be with Bill O’Brien and the Texans.

Michigan State’s offseason has been as tumultuous as can be, despite these guys not being current members of the football team. It’s about time for some good news to strike Mark Dantonio and the Spartans. For now, Bullough and Mumphery need to update their resumes.
