Spartan fans want him back, but 2017 Michigan State basketball commit Xavier Tillman is really hoping Miles Bridges returns next season.

What would bringing Miles Bridges back for the 2017-18  season mean for Michigan State basketball? Well, for one, the Spartans would easily be a top 10, or maybe even top five, team in the country and it would provide another scoring option on an already-loaded team.

This year’s version of the Spartans was not ideal. Michigan State was down two big men (three if you count Deyonta Davis) prior to the season. The Spartans also watched Denzel Valentine, Matt Costello and Bryn Forbes take the next step in their careers while replacing them with true freshmen.

However, Michigan State still found a way to win 20 games and make it past the first round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Next year, though, the sky is the limit.

After his team’s Class A state championship loss on Saturday at the Breslin Center, four-star forward Xavier Tillman offered his thoughts on the Bridges decision. To no one’s surprise, he’s hoping the potential lottery pick gives it one more year.

Bridges’ teammates, future teammates, coaches and fans would love to have him back and it’s been well-documented that his legacy means a lot to him, but will he choose East Lansing as a home next year or the NBA?

Tom Izzo has stated that he will make the decision that’s best for him and if that means remaining at Michigan State for one more year, so be it. Now we know that Tillman is rooting for the return of Bridges.
