Michigan State recruiting is hosting one of the more underrated recruits in the 2017 class, but what are the chances Greg Elliott commits?

With the 2016-17 season coming to an end, Michigan State recruiting will be heating up in the coming weeks, starting with a visit from three-star shooting guard Greg Elliott. The three-star from Detroit will be on campus this weekend and there may be a decent chance he commits soon.

What are the chances Elliott commits to the green and white, though? Well, his timeline might be up to Tom Izzo. With Brian Bowen still looking to make a decision, the head coach may be telling Elliott to wait until the five-star wing announces. The Spartans are still in the running for Bowen, and it’s unlikely they take both him and Elliott.

There are two scenarios in which I could see the Spartans taking both. One, if someone in the program is thinking about transferring and, two, if Elliott agrees to redshirt. Oh, and three, if Miles Bridges decides to go pro.

Right now, I’d be willing to guess the Spartans lead for Elliott seeing as he’s an in-state kid who has really make MSU a priority since being offered a scholarship. The idea of playing for a Hall of Fame coach and potentially winning a title is a nice draw.

Elliott may not be ranked as one of the best recruits in the 2017 class, but he’s severely underrated. If Michigan State can pick up a commitment from him (which I do see happening), they will be adding some much-needed depth to the wing position.
