Michigan State recruiting, Tom Izzo have offered four-star 2018 small forward Hameir Wright from Albany, N.Y.

Getting in early for 2018 and 2019 recruits is important for Tom Izzo and his quest to make Michigan State recruiting remain on top. The Spartans have been the class of the Big Ten in terms of recruiting and that might not change any time soon.

Attempting to remain on top, Izzo offered one of the top 2018 forwards in the country in four-star Hameir Wright from Albany, N.Y.

Izzo hasn’t ever really had luck with kids from the Northeast, proven last year with the Taurean Thompson recruitment, but he’s looking to change that. Wright is considered one of the top talents in the class and is likely to be a five-star prospect by the time he reaches college.

Wright is currently being recruited by schools such as Syracuse, Seton Hall, Villanova and Maryland, but the Spartans could jump to the top of his list with the offer. He’s also received scholarships from West Virginia, Georgetown, Cincinnati and Connecticut.

The Spartans 2018 class currently has a couple of pledges in four-star point guard Foster Loyer from Clarkston, Mich., and four-star big man Thomas Kithier from Macomb, Mich. Both of those guys would be perfect complements to Wright who still has time to grow into his 6-foot-7, 180-pound frame.

The four-star from Albany is ranked the No. 28 overall prospect and seventh-best small forward in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports. It seems like Syracuse may lead for him right now.
