The 2016 class has all but filled up and as crazy as it may seem, it’s time to look toward the 2017 group for recruits and Michigan State is in for quite possibly one of the most talented groups yet. While the 2016 class may be the most talented group Mark Dantonio has ever assembled as head coach of MSU, you may need to keep your eyes on 2017.

Michigan State has already received a pledge from 2017 four-star wide receiver Hunter Rison, but you better believe there are more coming.

This summer marked the first commitment for the class just as last summer did for the 2016 group and it grew exponentially in a short period of time from April-June.

Now that Dantonio has moved some of his focus onto 2017, it’s time for us to look at which top recruits he will be considering and which ones we should be keeping our eyes on. There are a ton of top players in the country who are interested in the Spartans and it may even end up being Dantonio’s second straight top-10 class and the best he’s ever assembled.

I am going to release two lists of top football recruits to keep an eye on for the class of 2017, but this one is the higher-priority list and kids who are more realistic signees.

With that being said, let’s take a look at the top 2017 football targets that we should watch for as these names may become very familiar soon enough.
