The 2025 Moneyball Pro-Am wrapped up a week ago with Jeremy Fears Jr. and Carson Cooper representing Michigan State basketball well with a championship crown.
While those two won the title over Divine Ugochukwu and Jaxon Kohler, there were multiple Spartans who stood out during the event, which is nothing new. We've seen plenty of Spartans put up gaudy numbers over the years, and this year was no different.
Coen Carr led the entire event in points per game and was named the co-MVP.
But he wasn't the only Spartan to put up insane numbers. He did average over 40 points per game, but an incoming transfer was right behind him, averaging just under 40.
Which Spartans put up the gaudiest numbers in this year's Moneyball Pro-Am?
These were the Spartans who finished top 10 in scoring:
Note: Stats from the official Moneyball website.
Player | Points per game |
---|---|
Coen Carr | 41.6 |
Trey Fort | 38.3 |
Jaxon Kohler | 31.6 |
Carson Cooper | 25.9 |
Kur Teng | 24.1 |
Cam Ward | 24.1 |
Jeremy Fears Jr. | 23.3 |
Those numbers are obviously impressive, especially since Cooper isn't exactly a scorer in the post, but it could mean that he's about to take another step on the offensive side of the ball.
Speaking of gaudy numbers, there were 12 games in which a Spartan scored at least 40 points and five games of 50-plus point performances. Who accounted for all of these?
Trey Fort finished with the highest-scoring game during the Pro-Am, scoring 58 back on July 10, and Kohler came close with 56 about two weeks later. Fort had two more 50-point games, scoring 53 and 50 in the other instances. Carr scored 50 once and had four games of at least 40 points. The fewest number of points he scored in a game at this year's Moneyball was 34.
How did the rest of the Spartans do, scoring-wise?
Player | Points per game |
---|---|
Divine Ugochukwu | 15.6 |
Jordan Scott | 13.3 |
Nick Sanders | 12.6 |
Denham Wojcik | 7.2 |
Neither Jesse McCulloch nor Kaleb Glenn appeared in the event due to injuries. A lot of people are expecting big things from McCulloch this season, while Glenn will miss the rest of the year.
Oh, and former Spartan Pierre Brooks showed up for a game and scored 34 points.
Not a bad showing for the Spartans.
