Getting drafted into the NFL usually completes dreams and life goals for a lot of football players. It's usually one of the most special moments of these guys' entire lives. And for Luke Newman, that was no different.

Obviously when he decided to transfer from Holy Cross to Michigan State, he was hoping that move would help him earn more exposure and play himself into an NFL Draft prospect.

Well, he bet on himself and won.

The former Holy Cross offensive lineman turned Michigan State starter came to East Lansing with plenty of potential and a new coaching staff to work with. Jonathan Smith and Jim Michalczik loved what they saw from him and knew he could help. All he did in East Lansing was improve and he worked his way into the NFL Draft this year. What a journey it's been.

So when the rising offensive lineman heard his name called in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft with his family, you could only imagine what kind of emotions were running through everyone.

Lucky for you, you don't have to imagine because Newman shared his reaction via Michigan State football's social media page on Saturday evening:

This was a pretty cool moment as you could see that Newman was more speechless than anything else as the rest of his family was jumping up and down with excitement. The Spartan lineman kept his cool and just had the biggest grin on his face as he realized his NFL dream was coming true.

Even better, here's the phone call he had right before the reaction above:

Newman's job isn't finished yet, though. As a sixth-rounder, he's going to have to prove himself worthy of making that 53-man roster in the fall, but I have a good feeling that he's going to be just fine.
