Michigan State football started the 2025 season out with a bang, scoring on a long drive after stopping Western Michigan on its first possession.
The Spartans gave up a couple of big pass plays as Western Michigan got into Michigan State territory, but some big stops on third and fourth down by Joshua Eaton and Ade Willie, respectively, gave the ball to Aidan Chiles.
All he did was complete all but one pass while leading Michigan State down the field to its first touchdown of the season about 10 minutes into the first game.
The drive was capped off by a 12-yard touchdown run by Brandon Tullis.

It was an impressive run by Tullis which came right after Makhi Frazier hit an open hole and ran 28 yards down deep into Western Michigan territory. That set up this 12-yard touchdown run by Tullis a couple of plays later, and the crowd promptly went insane after watching the offensive line actually open lanes for the first time in years.
Michigan State fans have been craving a rushing attack with a pulse for years, but there just hadn't been much there even with Nate Carter (recent Atlanta Falcon roster spot holder) in town.
Not only was it refreshing to see the offensive line open some lanes and get a push, but it was also great to see the running backs show patience and act like veterans in the backfield, hitting holes hard and picking up big gains. It was an impressive drive for the entire offense.
A sign of things to come? Let's hope so.
