Nightmare doesn’t even begin to describe the past few Michigan State football games. The Spartans began the season 3-0 with some juice after a Boston College overtime win, but since then, it’s been nothing but sadness.
Michigan State has lost three straight games, including a 38-13 dud at home against a 1-4 UCLA team that just fired its head coach a few weeks ago.
The Spartans are searching for answers, but those might come in the form of a coaching change whether it’s fair or not. Jonathan Smith’s second season at the helm has been anything but impressive and “underwhelming” feels like the right word here.
Smith has one more chance to make a statement before his job is truly in danger. There’s been talk that a blowout loss to Indiana could spell the end of his coaching career in East Lansing.
Vegas doesn’t give the Spartans much of a chance on Saturday, however.

As you can see, Vegas believes this game is going to be over pretty much before it even starts. The line is moving even more in Indiana’s direction as the week progresses — it opened at 26.5 points.
After watching Indiana beat Oregon, Vegas is all in on the Hoosiers. It’s pretty clear and obvious why the Hoosiers are such heavy favorites, but you don’t usually see four-touchdown spreads in conference play, especially if one of the teams is still at .500.
No one believes in Michigan State right now.
