What do you give a man who has everything he needs for Christmas? That has to be the dilemma on Tom Izzo's family's hands every year around this time as the Hall of Fame head coach probably wants nothing more than to just be with his family for the holidays.
But he still gets gifts even if he doesn't need them.
In fact, one of the coolest gifts that he received this year was a pair of Nikes that were designed by his granddaughter and that he decided to wear for Michigan State's last game of the 2024 calendar year against Western Michigan.
This is awesome.
The 'Izzy Dunks' that Izzo wore on Monday afternoon against the Broncos were actually colored on by his granddaughter Isabelle who is just over a year old. This is something that all coaches should do around Christmas time if they have young kids or grandkids. Wearing them just shows how much he loves his family and loves having a granddaughter as you see above the candid photo of Izzo kissing her on the head before -- or after -- the game.
Imagine telling fans 10 years ago that Izzo would eventually wear a Grinch ugly Christmas sweater, nothing but quarter-zips and tennis shoes, and a granddaughter-decorated pair of Nikes. We would be shocked to see the former suit-wearing head coach switching his style so much.
Honestly, these Nikes should be a fixture of his outfits for the rest of the season even though they didn't provide a ton of good luck as the Spartans looked rusty against a bad Western Michigan team.
