Michigan State fans know that head coach Tom Izzo isn't afraid to call his players out for something they have done wrong on the court. He is also the first one to call them out for doing something wrong off the court as well. Izzo has a great relationship with his guys, but he also isn't going to coddle them.

This fact about Izzo has surprisingly become a topic of discussion lately, started by Charles Barkley on CBS Sports. Barkley commended Izzo on his style of coaching, knowing that while it might be a little old school, not coddling players seems to be working out in his favor.

Dan Hurley calls out society for becoming soft and commends Izzo on coaching style

Now, Izzo is being backed up by another coach who coaches in a similar style, and that is UConn head coach Dan Hurley. The Huskies coach is certainly known for being animated on the sideline, especially when it comes to his players and mistakes that are made.

Hurley believes some of the reasons people have trouble with his and Izzo's coaching styles are because society has gone soft when, in all reality, the real world is hard and cruel, and he just wants to prepare his players for what the world will throw at them.

"I feel like I got a responsibility," Hurley said. "There is a lot that I got to instill in them, there is a lot of discipline, there's a lot of accountability, there's a lot of commitment, that I got to instill in them to prepare them for the real world."

While driving his players to be the best they can be, Hurley, as well as Izzo, knows that having that connection and relationship with each guy is important. The media and fans don't see everything that happens with a team, and it is clear these coaches care for their guys in every way.
