Michigan State basketball had plenty of things on its mind on Sunday. Their top 25 clash with fellow Big Ten championship contender Illinois, was certainly atop the list. And for the Spartans to pull off a huge win, with the Detroit Tigers' ace in the house only made things that much more special.

The game wasn't the only big story going on in the Breslin Center. Michigan State games have always had some high-profile attendees, whether it be former players or famous baseball players.

Sure the Izzone has famously had Alex Rodriguez pull up for a game, but the Spartans certainly have to appreciate this weekend's visitor.

The Tigers' ace and newly crowned Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal pulled up to the Breslin Center for the Spartans' duel with the Fighting Illini.

After spending some time meeting with Tom Izzo before the game, and even sporting a Mateen Cleaves No. 12 jersey, Skubal could be seen sitting right next to Izzo in the crowd throughout the game.

It also had to be pretty cool for Mateen to also be sitting right by Tarik. What an unforgettable moment.

It has always amazed me, how many famous sports stars from the many Detroit pro teams take the time to come through and support MSU basketball.

To see Tarik with Izzo for a photo in his office is awesome, and then to see that he also was able to hit the practice gym and put up some shots was a surreal moment. Especially as a proud alum and fan of the Tigers as well.

There are plenty of Spartan and Detroit Tigers fans out there, so for Skubal to take the time is awesome.

The Breslin has seen plenty of famous faces this year, and we aren't even in the bulk of the schedule yet. What a great day in East Lansing, we've been waiting for a moment like this, and it was all worth it.
