Ranking current Michigan State basketball players as NBA prospects

2. Jaden Akins

It was very difficult for me to choose between Xavier Booker and Jaden Akins for the No. 2 spot on this list.

I feel like Booker is the more modern NBA-type prospect as a stretch big man, along with having a five-star pedigree out of high school, but ultimately I opted for the more consistent guy who has put the team on his shoulders at times this season.

We are seeing more of what we were hoping for out of Akins this year as the alpha of the team. He currently leads the team in points per game quite comfortably, but with the ability to score at all three levels, he also brings good slashing ability, high-level athleticism for his size, and high-motor defense and board-crashing.
