There have been several tasks added to Tom Izzo and Michigan State's list this offseason. The Spartans have tried to accomplish some personal tasks like Jeremy Fears Jr.'s offensive game, or Jaxon Kohler's post offense, or Coen Carr's jumper.

All of those have been worked on extensively this offseason, and now that practice has officially begun, the Spartans are putting it into action.

And it's paying off. The improvement is obvious.

Izzo said Fears has added about five inches to his vertical and he's playing with more confidence after finally being healthy, and he also raved about his two freshmen.

What I haven't seen him mention this week is Carr's improved jumper. That might be the team's best kept secret right now, but after posting a practice clip from Tuesday, it might be a secret no longer.

It looks like the Spartans were running some sort of final-second drill where Fears brought the ball up the floor quickly, dished it to Jordan Scott on the wing who immediately fed it to Carr in the corner for a contested 3-pointer that he got up quickly. Nothing but net.

Obviously we've all seen the videos of Carr taking jumpers throughout Moneyball, and making a good chunk of them. He has been working hard on his jumper, and it shows.

Not only is Carr making these shots at a higher clip, but his release looks about five times quicker than it was a season ago. He used to have a fairly long release which meant that he needed to be wide open to take the shot, but now he looks comfortable taking a contested shot with less than a second to get it off.

Carr might just be a scary force this season.
