Michigan State basketball has plenty of traditions. The Izzone, all the Final Fours, the history, the Breslin Center, but the biggest tradition is head coach Tom Izzo. With Spartan Madness coming up in less than a month, it's time to look back at some of Coach Izzo's most memorable moments from Spartan Madness.

Now Izzo has been known to dress up as some interesting characters during his time at Michigan State. So this list is tough, but here it goes.

Here are the top five most memorable Tom Izzo Michigan State Madness moments.

1. Izzo's Mighty 300

The 2007-08 Michigan State Basketball team was gearing up for a tough schedule during the fall of 2007 when Izzo and his Mighty 300 appeared at Breslin Center for one night only. A team led by senior guard Drew Neitzel. Izzo dressed up as Leonidas as he prepared to lead his team to glory.

The best side story to that night, was the fact that Leonidas himself actor Gerard Butler made an appearance at Breslin and Michigan State only three years later during the very same event.

2. Racing to Indianapolis

The Spartans were fresh off a runner-up finish in the national title game after falling just short in Detroit the previous season at the Final Four. So the 2009-2010 basketball team was ready to race their way back to final four again.

Izzo kicked off the race literally as he drove an MSU themed open wheel car into the Breslin Center. Boy did that kick off a fast-paced season, that ultimately saw the Spartans reach the final four for the second-year in a row in Indianapolis -- Indycar's home.

3. Rock and Roll All Night

In one of the more bizarre Izzo moments, he was ready to rock and roll all night Kiss-style before the 2014-15 season. With a Kiss cover band in tow, Izzo got up on stage dressed in the full Kiss makeup and everything and even played along with his famous accordion.

A Gene Simmons tongue wag certainly made it an entertaining night for all at the Breslin. That team once again made a great run reaching the Final Four. They certainly rock and rolled all night.

4. Izzo's Avengers assemble

The man from Iron Mountain himself became Iron Man for a night alongside his family dressed as other members of Marvel's Avengers. Izzo's 2012-13 Spartans needed a lot of hero like effort to reach their goals that season, with so much youth.

Izzo is no Tony Stark, but he still looked cool in the Iron-Man suit. That Spartan team despite their limits was able to reach the Sweet 16.

5. The Izzonator is here

What's that sound. It sure sounds like a motorcycle. Oh boy it is, but that's not Arnold, it's Izzo. Yep, that's right. The night that started it all, Michigan State Madness really took it's form in the fall of 1999. That was also prior to the greatest season in recent memory for Michigan State basketball.

The Izzonator was here to lead the Spartans to the 2000 National Championship, and the rest was history. He did just that.

The Terminator started it all, and all these years later, it will be interesting to see what Izzo has up his sleeve at this year's Michigan State Madness. I have fond memories of nearly all of Izzo's costumes, but these five no doubt take the cake as the best ones.
