Top 5 moments of Cassius Winston’s Michigan State basketball career
4. Senior Night (last game of his career)
Cassius Winston had one of the more memorable senior nights of any Michigan State basketball player in recent history. Not only did he shine and lead the way offensively, but this win clinched Michigan State’s third straight Big Ten championship.
Winston went on to score 27 points while also contributing six assists and four rebounds. This all around performance would be one for the record books on its own, but the fact that it ended up being his final game makes it even more memorable.
Soon after this game, while Michigan State was preparing to make a run in the Big Ten tournament, both the conference tournament and NCAA tournament were cancelled because of COVID-19. Every Michigan State fan in the world thought this would be MSU’s year behind the heroics of Winston, but he unfortunately never got that chance.
So instead of potentially witnessing Winston cut down the nets in April, we are left with this masterpiece as the last memory we will ever have of one of the greatest players to ever wear a Michigan State uniform.
