5. Szymon Zapala -- Night 4

Transfer center Szymon Zapala has also begun to excite me a little more this offseason as well. I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t excited when I found out he was the center Izzo was targeting, but maybe he will work out for Michigan State this season after all.

Zapala hasn’t had a monster game at Moneyball yet where he’s scored 30 or 40 points like others, that’s not really the type of player he is. But what he demonstrated on night four of Moneyball is nearly impossible to not get excited about as a Michigan State fan.

During the fourth night of Moneyball, Zapala scored a solid 24 points. But what made this extremely impressive was that he made four 3-pointers.

Before Zapala, Xavier Booker was the only Michigan State big man on the roster who could stretch the floor and knock down the deep shot. However, it now appears that the tallest player on the team in Zapala can do that as well.

I originally thought Zapala would struggle to find playing time this year behind Carson Cooper and Jaxon Kohler, but if he can hit the three ball with consistency it will be impossible for Izzo to not play him regularly.
