5. Steve Smith

People often forget that Steve Smith played 14 years in the NBA and was consistent throughout. He did played in the early 1990s through 2005 so he shouldn't be forgotten and he was also an All-Star in 1998. He quietly had a really good NBA career after a successful Michigan State career.

In his 14 years in the league, Smith averaged 16.8 points per game and shot 44 percent from the floor. He never averaged under 10 points per game in a single season throughout his 14 years and he was just a model of consistency. He was usually averaging between 14 and 18 points per game throughout his career. He never averaged more than 20 in a single season and never less than 12.6 points.

Smith parlayed his successful playing career into a broadcasting career and he can be seen on TNT as an NBA analyst. Oh, and he also sent his son to Michigan State as a walk-on.

It's been fun having him around the program again.
