Should we be concerned about Jeremy Fears’ health?

The annual Moneyball Pro-Am is returning to Lansing once again this summer, and Michigan State Spartans are all over the team rosters. Every single scholarship player will play -- everyone except Jeremy Fears Jr.

At this point it seemed likely that Fears was at 100 percent if not extremely close since his heartbreaking injury last December. While that may still be true, we unfortuantely won’t get to see him play in Moneyball this summer.

I don’t view this as a setback for him however, more of a precaution. Moneyball is always a super fun event each summer, but at the end of the day it doesn’t mean all that much for MSU’s players. So for someone who is coming off a serious injury like Fears is, there really isn’t a need to risk having him play.

Even with Fears not participating, the rosters are still overflowing with Michigan State Spartans. All six teams have two Spartans each, so let’s take a quick look to see who’s paired together.

Which Spartans are playing together?

Team Goodfellas: Szymon Zapala and Kur Teng

Team Tri-Star Trust: Gehrig Normand and Jaxon Kohler
Team Snipes: Tre Holloman and Carson Cooper
Team Motorcars: Jaden Akins and Xavier Booker
Team Case Credit Union: Frankie Fidler and Jesse McCulloch
Team Faygo: Coen Carr and Jase Richardson

Who am I most excited to see?

The team I, and likely everyone else, is most excited to see is Team Motorcars. This team features Jaden Akins and Xavier Booker, arguably two of the most important players to the team next season. It will be very interesting to see how far they’ve come this summer, especially Booker.

Newcomer Frankie Fidler will be someone to watch on Team Case Credit Union. I’m also excited to watch Szymon Zapala as well to get an idea of what he can bring to the post player's rotation down low.

Now although I would’ve been most excited to watch Fears, Moneyball still has many stacked lineups which will make the summer offseason go by that much faster for us Michigan State fans.
