5. Bonus portal entrant on Wednesday

As if Tuesday wasn't bad enough already, why not add more salt to the Spartans' wounds on Wednesday? Even though the portal is officially closed, players can still announce publicly that they are in the portal as long as they filed the paperwork on time. That is exactly what happened to Michigan State on Wednesday when defensive back Khary Crump entered the transfer portal.

However, out of all the transfers that have left Michigan State this spring, Crump may be the one that I am least concerned about. He barely played at any point in his Michigan State career, and I didn't see that changing this season.

Then you add in the fact that he was at the center of the fight at Michigan two years ago, which makes this loss feel not as devastating.

So Smith and his staff do not need to panic after losing Crump. In fact, this is probably in Michigan State's favor since they now can give more reps in practice and during games to other younger guys in the secondary.
