2. Jesse McCulloch

Next up is Fidler’s Moneyball teammate in freshman center Jesse McCulloch.

McCulloch averaged a solid 16.1 points per game this summer, which is very solid for a true freshman big man considering Moneyball is typically a guards game. But he did show one part of his game that makes me extremely excited for his arrival to the team.

A 3-point jump shot.

Michigan State doesn’t have a traditional center who can hit the deep shot, but it appears McCulloch could be that guy. McCulloch averaged just over one made 3-pointer per game and even had back to back games where he hit three. This tells me that these shots weren’t a fluke and are potentially a serious part of his game.

I’m not sure we’ll see much of McCulloch this season as he could be the fourth string center on the roster. But regardless this has to excite you for whenever he becomes a regular on the court.
