13. Gehrig Normand

Last up is Gehrig Normand. Normand redshirted last year, but I always wish he hadn’t because Michigan State needed his 3-point shooting desperately at times. But now that his redshirt season is behind him, he’s ready to show what he’s made of for the first time this season.

Normand displayed his impressive game this summer by averaging 18.1 points per game. Not the best average that we’ve gone over from this summer but not terrible either. But as I mentioned, Normand is known for being an assassin from deep, and he put that on full display at Moneyball.

Normand averaged three made 3-pointers this summer, including two games with four makes and one with five.

This is the Normand that Michigan State needs this winter. He doesn’t need to be the leading scorer, and he doesn’t have to be an elite defender either (although that would be a major plus). Normand needs to come in off the bench and hit a few timely jump shots, and I think he’s ready for that role this season.
